FAQ
Quick answers to the questions that come up most.
Accounts and data
Do I need an account?
No. Choose Continue without account and everything works on your phone: unlimited rounds, every stat. An account is for backing up and using your data elsewhere.
Where is my data?
On your phone. If you sign in and have The Caddy, your rounds also sync to the cloud for backup. Signing out stops syncing and leaves your rounds on the device.
Can I get my data out?
Yes, that's the point. Your data is yours. Use the CLI or the API to export it, script it, or point your own tools at it.
How do I delete my account?
See Delete Account. For what we collect and why, read the Privacy Policy.
Using the app
Do I have to log every shot?
No. Add only the non-putt shots you care about. A score and putts per hole gives you a scorecard and the classic stats. Logging those shots with club, lie, and distance is what shows you where you struggle, by lie and by distance.
Why is a Strokes Gained number missing?
Strokes Gained needs shot details, and putting needs your first-putt distance. If a round is missing them, those categories stay blank rather than guess.
How is shot distance measured?
With GPS. Tap Start GPS tracking at the ball, walk to where it ended up, and tap Mark end. If the signal is weak, wait a moment before marking.
What does Good or Bad mean on a shot?
It's about your swing, not the result. Did you hit the shot you meant to? Read more in how stats work.
Can I use meters?
There's a units option in Settings.
I stopped halfway through a round. Is it lost?
No. A round in progress stays on the Rounds screen with a shortcut to resume it, even if you close the app.
I signed out by mistake. Did I lose anything?
No. Your rounds stay on your phone. The app asks you to confirm before signing out, so it's harder to do by accident.
Still stuck?
Send feedback from Settings in the app. Tell us what you expected and what happened. It helps more than you'd think.
